Losing fat is not easy, just ask Drilldoggy. He’s been whipping people into shape for as long as he can remember, and he’s been getting pretty damn good results too. With that being said, we understand that getting your diet right can be a tad tricky, especially if you happen to be following the evolutionary diet and nutrition plan.

You bust your butts in our 12 weeks training program thanks to Drilldoggy, and no doubt you see great results. The hard work you put in will no doubt be paying off, but to really maximise your fat burning, muscle building potential, you also need to know exactly what it is you should be eating, and when you should be eating it.

As you know, the evolutionary diet was actually founded, not intentionally of course, by cavemen, millions upon millions of years ago, in the paleolithic era.The foods they ate weren’t laced with greasy saturated fat, processed wheat and glutens, or artificial flavourings, additives and preservatives, oh no. The food they ate was just as nature intended, laced full of healthy vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.

Despite what the Flintstones will have you believe, cavemen weren’t beer bellied binge eating louts, they were lean, mean, muscular hunters, with not an ounce of fat on their bodies. The reason they were in such great shape is most certainly not because they happened to book a lifetime gym membership at their local health club.

The reason they were such fantastic physical specimens is because they were active, and ate low fat, healthy nutritious foods. In this article we’ll be looking at several fat burning foods, all evolutionary diet friendly of course, and will be telling you why these fat burning foods are so healthy and beneficial for all of your training goals. So, without any further hesitation, let’s get started:

Salmon

Salmon is a fantastic fat burning food as it is literally laced full of protein. salmon actually also contains fats, but these are what’s known as “healthy fats”, the kind of fats that help lower your cholesterol, provide you with energy, and give your metabolisms a real boost. Salmon contains essential fatty acids such as omega 3, which are so, so healthy and good for our bodies. Omega 3 helps keep our joints flexible and nimble, our immune systems running as they should be, improves our eye sight, and even helps our brains to function properly, helping with both memory and concentration.

Nuts

Nuts (other than peanuts) are great fat burning foods for people following the evolutionary diet program. They too contain healthy fats, making them a great source of energy, and real metabolism boosters. They also contain high numbers of vitamins, and decent amounts of protein too. Nuts are great snack foods and are a great source of energy when you need a quick release. They also contain fibre which helps your digestive system, and helps to keep you regular. Just make sure to avoid nuts coated in certain toppings, and always avoid salted nuts. The salt is most certainly not evolutionary diet friendly, and if you were caught eating salted nuts, Drilldoggy would be most disappointed in you.

Broccoli

Broccoli is one of the healthiest foods you could ever wish to eat on any type of diet. it is highly anti carcinogenic (anti cancer) and it can also help protect you against a host of other harmful diseases. Broccoli contains high traces of vitamin C, which is extremely useful for the immune system. Vitamin C helps to boost your immune system, making it stronger than it ever has been before. A strong immune system means you’re much less likely to get sick, whether it be a simple cold, or something far more serious. Broccoli is completely fat free, so you can eat as much as you like, in fact, the more you eat, the better. As well as this, it is also full of minerals such as zinc and iron, both of which are very good for the metabolism, meaning you’re much more likely to burn even more fat than you could have ever thought possible.

Fruit

Again, fruit is packed full of vitamin C so your immune system will be getting a massive boost combined with the other foods you’re eating too. Fruit however, also contains pectin. Pectin is a great fat burning ingredient as it can actually limit the amount of fat that the cells inside your body absorb. If you’re not absorbing as much fat, you’ll obviously not gain weight, and as your metabolisms will be running in overdrive, you’ll see the fat almost literally melting from your body.

Water

Ok, technically not a food, but water is simply too important not to mention. Water is the natural life giver. Without water, there would be no life on earth. The same goes for our bodies too. We can survive for weeks without food, yet two or three days without water, and you’re very likely to die of dehydration. The major organs in your body require water in order to function as they should. This means your metabolism, your kidneys, your liver, your stomach, all of these processes and organs need water or else they simply will not work. Water also helps to keep you hydrated and can help to regulate body temperature too. If you drink fresh mineral water, you’ll also receive a fresh dosage of highly beneficial minerals too. It’s low in fat, refreshing, and very, very healthy, so drink away.
