1-Paleo Candy Bars

The worst thing about following diet plan is to restrain from the sweet pangs!  We all want to look good and feel fit, but the price we have to pay for getting in to shape often makes us sway. Have you ever heard of having a candy bar during diet regime? Certainly not, it is an almost paradoxical thought process for most. However, if you are following our nutrition concept then reality is far from this. In reality as per the cavemen diet plan you can actually go for these sweet delights to satiate your sweet tooth without feeling guilty.

Agreed, that these candy bars have to be made in a healthy manner like the cavemen would have opted for. So instead of using refined sugar we ask you to use pure and natural honey. Cocoa powder and unsweetened coconut in them add to the temptation without crossing the healthy limits while nuts make them more filling.

So with healthy ingredients in it, they don’t pose any threat to your waistline yet keeps your tummy full between meals.  So, if you are wondering how to make these ‘wonder’ fitness candy bars, look below!

Ingredients:

  • ¾ cup shredded coconut, unsweetened
  • ½ cup ground coconut
  • ¼ cup raw cacao powder
  • 1 tbsp raw honey
  • ½ cup ground nuts
  • 3 tbsp coconut oil, plus more for greasing

Method:

  • Pour the coconut oil and honey into a saucepan and heat it over slow flame.
  • Turn off the heat once the oil melts completely and blends with honey.
  • Stir in rest of the ingredients until well combined and set aside.
  • Grease a sheet of parchment paper with few drops of coconut oil and spoon the mixture onto it.
  • Spread it out into a single layer and shape it into a square once it is cool enough to handle.
  • Leave in the fridge for at least a couple of hours to set.
  • Slice into small squares and store in the airtight container.
  • Munch on them whenever you are hungry.
