Bacon Wrapped Dates

The presence of bacon in this snack might make a health-freak frown. But the nitrate-free or minimally processed varieties will make sure that this treat remains healthy yet tasty at the same time. While wrapping up the dates, opt for the whole, pitted ones since wrapping up the chopped ones might be very difficult to handle. Once wrapped up, you will only need a mere 10 minutes’ wait until the bacon-wrapped little gems are ready to pleasure your palate with its unique flavors.

Ingredients:
Serves: 6 (4 wrapped delights for each)
- 24 whole, pitted dates
- 12 nitrate-free bacon slices, uncooked
Method:
- Warm up your oven to 450 degrees F.
- Spread out the bacon slices onto a microwave-safe shallow dish or plate and microwave for a couple of minutes or until they crisp up; you might need to work in batches.
- Slice them crosswise into halves and use each halved strip to wrap a date.
- Insert a toothpick through the bacon and date to secure and arrange on to a rimmed baking sheet.
- Bake for 10 minutes and remove from oven.
- Allow to cool for 5-10 minutes and serve warm.
